Richard III – Scoliosis

A short story based on the opening monologue from Shakespeare’s Richard III, chronicling Kathryn’s experience with scoliosis, a spinal condition from which both she and King Richard III suffered.

This short story addresses the stigma of “deformity” conjured up in the play, and challenges the role Richard III’s spinal condition plays in his character portrayal.

Winner of the 2018 Graphic Shakespeare Competition.
